Self-care is one of the most critical things we can do in order to live our lives optimally. Often times when we are stressed, experience significant change in our lives, and are somehow thrown off of our normal routine, the first thing we let go of it taking care of ourselves. This is a mistake.
What is Self-Care?
Self-care includes any intentional action you take to care for your physical, mental, and emotional health. Self-care is learned, purposeful and continuous. Good self-care can be a challenge at times as it requires us to show value in ourselves and take time for ourselves in a new way. It is also important so that you can live the quality of life you have always thought possible. In modern medicine, preventive medicine aligns most closely with self-care.
Patients who are better informed and more educated possess greater motivation for self-care. Individuals initiate self-care then they seek out experts and professionals to assist in the support and enhancement of their self-care.
Our passion is helping individuals feel their best by removing any imbalances that hold people back from living the happy, active lifestyles they desire. The mind and body are simply amazing when we provide the right self-care necessary to perform most optimally. We can help you remove the stresses, unhealthy biomechanical/ structural patterns and nutritional deficiencies, allowing innate intelligence to do its job.
Be aware of things you are doing that do not support your self-care. Browsing the internet, watching TV, or even sleeping may be relaxing but try to enjoy them in moderation as they can be a way of retreating or isolating yourself and thus taking away from your ultimate self-care.
